About the wild birds at the Leinepolder Salzderhelden

The Leinepolder near Salzderhelden serves as a retention basin for winter floods from the Leine River and its tributaries. It is a valuable breeding ground for many rare birds and a refuge for migratory birds migrating from north to south. We describe an enjoyable tour (approximately 20 km) along the polder, with the opportunity to observe numerous birds and also enjoy a leisurely rest stop.
