The Nature Experience Space Dohrenberg is the epitome of the impressive beauty of nature.
The Natural area Nature Experience Space Dohrenberg near the Einbeck village of Salzderhelden, it impresses with its unique natural landscape and views of the Leinepolder, the B3 bridge, and the Heldenburg castle in Salzderhelden. The Dohrenberg area was opened to the public through an initiative of volunteers and nature enthusiasts, the Salzderhelden local council, and representatives of the city of Einbeck. 

In every season there are along the newly created hiking trail network something for nature-loving and environmentally conscious hikers. nature lovers on the Dohrenberg in old cultural landscape neben rare orchid species and Gentians also many protected butterflies, moths and  rich birdlife.

On Circular paths load over the Dohrenberg benches and Seating groups to rest and enjoy the beautiful view of the Leine Valley. A forest ant trail and a gnome trail are planned for the future. The renaturation of the limestone quarry is also planned.

An important note for a visit: Visitors and hikers on the Dohrenberg are encouraged to stay on the trails to protect nature and the numerous animal species, and to respect the environment. Please do not throw trash and picnic leftovers into the wild, but dispose of them at home.

At Dohrenberg there is a VineyardThe grape harvest is always a very special day for the amateur winemakers at Dohrenberg. Rotling from the grapes of the grape varieties “Müller Thurgau" and "Red Regent” is brought from the "Käsebusch" vineyard to a winegrower friend on the Moselle, who takes over the aging of the wine. Afterwards, it is returned to Salzderhelden.

Arrival & Parking

The Dohrenberg natural area is located north of Salzderhelden, a district of Einbeck, and is about 7 km from Einbeck.

By Car:

At the edge of Salzderhelden, heading towards Rittierode (in the direction of the cemetery/military cemetery), there are parking areas from which you can walk up to the Dohrenberg. Further parking is available at the end of Waldstraße in Salzderhelden, in the direction of the forest.
From Einbeck Mitte train station, take the RE86 train to Einbeck-Salzderhelden, then walk for about 15 minutes towards Dohrenberg. See Getting There & Parking.
