The "Fairytale Forest" is truly magical, wild, and beautiful. Here, nature is left to its own devices and is on its way back to the jungle!
The Fairytale Forest Trail is more than just a hiking trail—it's an experience that will transport you away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Pack your backpack, lace up your hiking boots, and prepare to immerse yourself in this magical world. Let yourself be enchanted by the magic of the enchanted forest!

The best way to get there is from the large Hube parking lot to the starting point of the circular route.

The name might make you think of an amusement park with fairytale characters – but the Fairytale Forest is an ancient, natural deciduous forest on the way to becoming a primeval forest. It got its name from its fairytale-like trees. Gnarled oaks, mighty beeches, majestic sycamore maples, bizarre hornbeams, and numerous other tree species, along with dense bushes, tree fungi, and plenty of deadwood, give the forest a mysterious appearance. The trees, some of which are over 250 years old, are full of hollows – a true paradise for animals and, with a little imagination, even for fairytale creatures.

Scan the QR codes at the stations along the way and let yourself be guided through the circular route. Each station has a story to tell:

safety instructions

To protect nature, please be careful not to leave the marked trails. The trail partially leads through forestry areas. In the fairytale forest, with its ancient trees, there is an increased danger of falling branches and trees.

Do not enter the forest in windy conditions, when there is a risk of snow damage, or when it is dark! For your safety, avoid dead or dying trees that are leaning toward the path. In such cases, you may leave the path. Entering at your own risk.
