The Saltworks Salzderhelden is considered an industrial monument in the village of Salzderhelden, about 5 km from Einbeck, which was a commercial settlement with its saltworks until the 20th century. Salt production shaped the life of the village of Salzderhelden for around 800 years.
Through a Fire in July 2020 However, their drilling tower II, built in 1884, burned down completely. The brine tank and the brine bathhouse were spared from the fire.

Further information about the saltworks:
- 12th century: According to a legend, during this time the Brine spring discovered
- 1332: first written mention
- 1757: the 15 boiling houses from Salzderhelden rebuilt as a unified saltworks and to a Salt Union merged.
- from 1852: use the Salzderhelden brine in the bathhouse for bathing and inhalation purposes
- 1963: Closure of the saltworks
- 1994: Discontinuation of the bathing operation; consequently, the closure of the saline and the cessation of bathing operations were all salt works except for the drilling tower II, the brine tank and the bathhouse, reduced
- 2009: Restoration of the drilling rig II
- 2011: Reopening of the "Alte Saline" as Industrial monument
- 2025: Completion of the reconstruction of drilling rig II, which burned down in 2020

You can reach Salzderhelden by bus on line 230.
By car, leave Einbeck and head towards Northeim on the L 487 road and continue onto the L 572. Take the second exit on the left towards Salzderhelden. Then, take the first right and you'll reach the saltworks.
Visitors can reach the Salzderhelden saltworks on foot from Salzderhelden train station in about 22 minutes (just under 2 km).
