The Council scales the novel in the middle of the 16th century to the west wall of the main building of the Old town hall in Einbeck and decorated with numerous ornamental carvings and coats of arms. The building was for carrying out calibrations used, hence the name.
On the arch above the entrance the council scales To the right of the year 1565 is the crowned Einbeck “E”, the oldest town mark - to the left is the coat of arms of the sovereign, two Brunswick lions.
The Extension of the former council scales The structural extension of the Old Town Hall was started as part of planned renovation work and 1884 put into practice.

Visitors can reach the Ratswaage (Ratsweighe) next to the Old Town Hall from Einbeck-Mitte train station in about 7 minutes (600 m walk). From the train station, cross the traffic lights toward the ZOB (Einbeck bus station) and follow Dr.-Friedrich-Uhde-Straße to the Möncheplatz parking lot. From there, cross the Lange Brücke (Long Bridge) directly into the pedestrian zone and onto the market square. The historic town hall is on the left, and the Ratswaage (Ratsweighe) is on the right.
Drivers can park in nearby parking lots in the city center and from there reach the Ratswaage within about 5 - 10 minutes:
- subject to a fee / parking ticket: Tiedexer Straße, Breil, Möncheplatz, Löwenkreuzung
with parking disc (max. 2 hours): Hullerser Wall, around the Münsterkirche St. Alexandri
- free of charge: New Town Hall / Köppenweg
