The
Historic Buildings on Teichenweg is a
multi-story half-timbered house, which together with the west-facing extension forms a horseshoe shape. The facade of the building is decoratively clad in slate. On the east side in front of the building is the
Keene Square. In addition, the
Einbeck-Mitte train station only 200m away.
The building was originally built in 1869 as a barracks for the Prussian army and was used for military purposes until 1896. In 1907, the well-known mail order company
August Stukenbrok the building and used it as an office building for his company August Stukenbrok Einbeck (ASTE). In the following years, the building became part of the Heidemann-Werke Einbeck, which, like Stukenbrok, produced bicycles. This production was later converted to car parts.
In 1997, the
city council from
Old town hall in the old town to the New Town Hall, and in 2015 the building became the property of the city of Einbeck. Today, the building houses the city administration and mayor of Einbeck, as well as the Northeim district job center and the employment agency.
