Nature & Landscape

Refreshing greens in and around Einbeck

Are you in the mood to refresh yourself in the green from time to time? Just have a little stroll along our beautiful ramparts that were, together with the long town wall, once part of the town’s fortifications to protect Einbeck from enemies. Maybe you have some more time and would like to go a little further away and hike in our idyllic, diverse surroundings. For example, you can discover the Hube, our city forest: Wide, comfortable trails and small, exciting paths cross the forest. We can offer you conscious wood bathing or guided walks. Or, how about a diversified and informative guided tour with one of the nature scouts in the bird sanctuary Leine polder? A very special nature experience if, for instance, also the hill Dohrenberg, a gem on the shell-like hilltops above the Leine valley, the nature area Kirschenberg or nature reserve Altendorfer Berg.

Our villages

In beautiful countryside

Karte der Einbecker Ortschaften

Just imagine: Our beautiful city counts altogether 46 villages! According to size, Einbeck, located in the heart of South Lower Saxony, is also its largest municipality. We find that quite astonishing and are proud on every single one of our villages. Because, what would a city be like without its villages and small market towns?! The villages are embedded in our beautiful, diverse landscape with the rivers Ilme and Leine. Some along our bird sanctuary, the Leine polder, some in the idyllic Leinevalley, some at the edge of wildly romantic Ahlsburg in the region Sollingvorland or a wooded hill like the Dohrenberg or the Hube. Every village is unique and has a lot to offer.
